HAFZA to construct first model Free Trade Zone in
HAFZA has entered into contracts to commence a pilot model of the intended Horn of Africa free zones in the
HAFZA believes that by commencing a pilot model of the free zone area/s in the Philippine will allow a fast track and save time for the Horn of Africa. It will also allow HAFZA to commence with fully trained Somali personnel (trained both in the Philippines and/or Puntland) to implement and train additional local Somali personnel in developing the HAFZA free zones when commenced.
The industries proposed to be developed in the model Philippine Special Economic Zones (SEZ) may include the following industries with provision of suitable infrastructure for local and export markets:

Fresh Water Crayfish Farms

Carbon trading of Credits under the Kyoto Plan

Palm Oil Joint Venture with Major Producer

Manufacture of (Tuk Tuk) Carts (export markets incl. Indonesia & HAFZA)
It is proposed that the HAFZA Finance shall finance individuals and companies established in the Initial SEZ Area at low interest rates utilizing the business and guarantees of the people applicants. Each business shall be supported by selected international mentors qualified to oversee the subject businesses.
A similar plan shall be adapted for the Horn of Africa free zones subject to modeling industries suitable for the region.
